RNLI animated video

We have just created an RNLI animated video, using information graphics and the skills of an illustrator, with the aim to educate and inform its staff and volunteers of the many changes going on within the organisation.

RNLI saves lives at sea. It has more than 4600 lifeboat crew and 3000 volunteer shore crew, as well many full-time staff. To remain ‘on top of their game’ they are always looking at ways to improve efficiencies. With staff and volunteers scattered around the UK, an efficient management system was needed.

BSMP is the RNLI’s Business Systems Modernisation Programme and is currently being rolled out to all staff members. We were commissioned to produce the RNLI animated video to introduce the Programme in a light-hearted, yet informative manner and to encourage a response. The feedback to the RNLI animated video has been very promising and it has been well received.

Whether a traditional movie presentation or an animated piece, it’s not only a great way to ‘getting your message across’ but it seriously helps with improving your website traffic. Here are 5 good reasons to consider video:

It’s Visual – people tend to look for a visual experience when surfing the web, and video has an inherent appeal to audiences. Most of us would prefer to ‘see’ something before we are forced to ‘read’ something. While we tend to skim through any large blocks of written material, we will almost certainly take the time to watch a professionally produced video presentation.

It’s Sticky – Video can help make your website ‘sticky’. Not unlike when a prospective customer walks into your place of business, your goal should be to keep them on your website for as long as possible learning about your services in order to increase the chance of making a sale.

It’s Emotional – A video demonstrating how a product works along with customer testimonials would provide solid evidence that the product can indeed solve a particular problem. It sets off emotional triggers that static text cannot, ultimately influencing buying decisions.

It’s On Demand – Unlike a traditional sales pitch, a video can be experienced “on-demand”. Anyone interested can view it anytime he/she wants simply by visiting your website.

It’s Versatile – A video which has been produced for your website can be repurposed elsewhere. The cost can be leveraged by distributing the video offline on DVD as a general sales tool.

Like to see another animated video using just information graphics? We produced one for Premier Group as a presentation piece, please take a look. As always, we would value your feedback!

The RNLI philosophy remains the same as it was in 1824: to provide lifesaving service using volunteers wherever possible, with voluntary donations supplying the funds needed to do so.
